There was this feature on TV about bamboo inspiration Glen and Bles Pascual of Ignacia Tarlac. They started 9 years ago, and has since grown from humble beginnings... They are giving livelihood to scores of farmers who raise bamboo for a living. They even taught the farmers processes on how to convert the bamboo into raw materials

It was recently featured in a TV magazine that a certain firm in Ilocos helps recycle plastic waste into becoming mixture of CHB. The resulting CHB is much stronger than ordinary CHB (it should be because the ground plastic parts form fiber or reenforcement which binds further the cement and sand.
This is and ingenious way to build with new materials, and at the same time help solve the waste disposal problems. The proponent said they were to reduce the height of waste at the landfill by as much as two meters
