The Verge: $15,000 drone for precision farm spraying
The Chinese TV channel recently featured the use of drones in agriculture. The announcer mentioned the use of Artificial Intelligence in the said drones to spray fertilize and map the farms, more efficiently (faster and cheaper than what humans are capable of. They are also safe and lessens exposure of humans to pesticide. Price ranges from $3,000 to $15,000
The Agras as the drones are known are made by DJI and features 8 blades and can carry about 2 gallons of pesticide and can cover 7 to 10 acres in one hour. It is 40x more efficient than human spraying and faster
