Idea: Incorporate Bicycle's in the Mass Transportation System

Rationale:

Promote the use of bicycles for short- distance travel

Implementation:

Commuters can use their bikes from home going to major transport stations then take a bus or train to farther destinations and vice versa. This will not only lessen traffic build- up caused by excessive PUJ's dropping- off passengers to transport terminals but in general, lessen PUJ's use and their co2 emission. More than the promotion of cleaner air is the benefit of a healthier lifestyle through constant/ everyday exercise.

1) In existing transport terminals like MRT, LRT, Bus Terminals, etc.; build a space wherein bikes can be safely stowed. It can be a locker- type storage wherein padlocks or security codes are used to secure the bikes out of other passenger's reach.

2) Set-up a system wherein bike locker/ storage users will need to pay a certain amount for the maintenance of the lockers. Not only will it pay for the maintenance of the lockers, it will also serves as a discount coupon for fares. Ex: Before a passenger buys a ticket, he/ she needs to present the bike storage ticket (same as the ones used in pay parking) in order to avail a discount for his/ her fare. This offers more saving for commuters; they don't need to pay for short ride transport: PUJ's and tricycles and they will have discounts in the MRT, LRT and buses.

3) Put- up an advertisement in transport stations explaining the benefits of riding the bike and the discount it offers to passengers who will travel using their bike and the bike storage/ lockers constructed inside terminals.  3

Basically, it's just incorporating the 'space and fuel conserving' bicycles in the public transportation system.

<In Europe and elsewhere in the world,  there are cycling infrastructures that blend in the mass transport system like "bikershare";  this is on top of the bike lanes;  if you review literature on green innovation, bicycling is one of them;  I am surprised.  This is to stop global warming>

In this case, maybe I'll focus on adding it to the transportation system instead. Fare Incentives or discounts will be given to commuters who rents the bike storage/lockers to promote bike use.

The dilemma of whether or not to leave the office/ home to buy medicine for a pain that hinder us from performing our duties well is what Meds on Wheels is trying to tackle. People don't need to leave their offices, homes and cars to buy medicine; Meds on Wheels will drive to you.
