NU6 Idea 6: The "Calorfie" AppIn recent years, there has been a resurgence of living a healthy lifestyle that revolves around diet an exercise. For most people on a weight loss or maintenance program, many approaches both scientific and alternative/holistic have been developed and have proven their effectiveness all in the same objective of preserving one's well-being.This mobile app I have in mind is inspired by countless others which is useful for calorie counting. While most methods require manual entry of the food item, the serving or weight/ volume measurements and the numbers that go with it, I would just like to develop an app wherein you take the photo of the food item from all sides and the calories are already computed instantly! You don't even have to key in what dish it is as the app will instantly recognize or detect the dish itself down to its individual ingredients and its calorie content per ingredient, broken down from its total calorie content for that particular serving. This may seem far-fetched but given the pace of technology available, this may just be on hand in the near future. 4Elizabeth Carlos-Timbol
This is all about new ideas and innovation. Entrepreneurship is all about new ideas and innovation. There could be no entrepreneurship unless the entrepreneur thinks out of the box, is creative, and constantly thinks of making his product, his market, his processes, his business model new. It is all about being better than before and the competition. It is all about preparing for the future. Maintaining status quo means death the end of the enterprise.

Background
I know I'm right when I say that everyone, meaning, the human race, wants to be fit and to stay fit. Every one of us struggles to control our weight. People enroll at gyms; do physical activities such as biking, surfing, running, etc. to lose unwanted fat and at the same time to be healthy. People usually have a hard time keeping count of the calorie intake for the day. In the Philippines, our diet consists of pork, chicken, beef, seafood, rice, and of course, more pork. A lot of us struggle to watch our calorie intake.
I was talking to a friend of mine about fitness and weight loss. And then we talked about how much calories a person needs. Then she came up with the idea; what if everyday items such as pots and pans, utensils, and other things you can use that can count the calories for you?
Apparently, there's an app that you can download that comes with a gadget that lets you identify the ingredients that a dish has. Now, take that technology and somehow, identify the ingredients, measure the amount of each ingredient used, and at the same time give the calorie count for each. And what a better way to do that with pots and pans, food containers, and something that you can bring with you anywhere.

Kitchenware and a pen that count the calories for you.4
Innovation
Imagine preparing food for your family using a frying pan that tells you how much calories are already in the food you're preparing. And while on the go, a pen that you stick inside food and counts the calories for you. With this kind of product, people won't have a hard time assuming their calorie intake when there's physical device that does it for them. People will start to get healthy and fit.
