Akio would not change - continue building internal combustion and/or hybrid cars ather than shifting to EVs

New ideas create better quality of life and wealth

Akio Toyota the Chairman CEO of Toyota Motors, one of the largest car manufacturers in the world opposes the  Japanese govt plan to slash carbon emissions by transistioing to EV vehicles   He also heads the Japanese Automobile Manufacturer's Assocition.

He says that it is a big mistake since that means loss of exports of 8 million vehicles and  loss of 5.5 million jobs.   He sees their current investments in fuel cells and/or hybrid vehicles  and that the world is not ready for EV.  (The author likeness to the late response of Blackberry to Android)

Aside from Tesla, a number of American car manufacturers have shifted to EVs, so with VW and other German car manufacturers.   Scores of Chinese car manufacturers are into EVs

The author sees the greater risk as heating the earth too much that would kill the citizens.

Do you think Toyota would adapt or just be like the dinosaurs or the rest of companies that died by not adapting   Even Shell does not see itself to be in fossil fuel industry in the next 30 years (hence its heavy investment in wind mills)
