What's the major cause of a flood here in Metro Manila?

Yes! It's the clogged drainages!

Instead of de-clogging the drainages during the time of a storm or even before the wet season, why don't we renewed our Filipino attitude / habit with regards our rubbish?

Most of us are lazy in throwing our garbage in the trash bins, or even simply placing it first in our pockets when there's no available trash bins especially with the small candy wrappers, papers, plastics, etc… Why? Because we don't want to place any unwanted trashes in our pockets, we don't want to carry rubbish, there's no trash bins, or we just don't care about it.

The solution/idea is to place many (as in many) trash bins in our neighborhoods, villages, side streets, houses, offices, establishments, tourist spots etc… This sounds funny and expensive, but this will save us from future floods (which is more expensive) and will eventually build the habit of throwing thrashes in the bins.   3

                Often times, during rainy season, you see on news that there are a lot of cars getting stranded in flood because drivers still attempted to drive on road that are already flooded hoping to pass thru. With advance technology this can be prevented by adapting currently available system. Sound Navigation and Ranging – SONAR technology can be configured to detect approaching level of water and can signal the driver that road ahead is within critical level if you proceed. This technology has long been used on different application and is adaptable on standard automobile. For flood prone areas like in Cities, this is very useful for drivers to avoid being stuck and worst for cars to float in the middle of the road. 3  (you listen to a ping? a depth sonar ba Ramey)
