NU 12 by Jaime Mendejar: What pisses you off at the neighborhood?

What pisses you off at the neighborhood? What do you suggest?

Before I begin, I would like to define what 'neighborhood' actually means for me which are basically my neighbors or the people surrounding where I live.   First I don't live in a fancy neighborhood, we don't have security guards who get your information before you enter, basically anyone can get in or out without anyone noticing. In short, since anyone gets in and out its not impossible for someone to do something and you're clueless as to who did it.  For example, our house got robbed and no one even noticed. Our car, parked in the street since we don't have a garage, suddenly has either a dent or a huge scratch in the morning.   To be fair, there have been a couple of measures that they have performed to try and control it.  They implemented a curfew system, after 10pm only 1 main road can be passed thru by vehicles, they installed CCTV cameras on some streets and they have night security on posts across the barangay.

So what pisses me off about my neighborhood?  They cannot follow-thru on their implementation. The curfew though they say have been implemented only limits people to 'stand-by' in areas outside of their houses - so what do people do? Hold drinking sessions inside their houses instead.  The CCTV cameras, though installed, have been reported not to be even running or working.  The night security watch, don't even roam around to see if anything is strange or happening unless someone reports it.  In short, its only for show.

So what needs to be done? I honestly think that there should be an iron hand that implements these rules, someone needs to take over and ensure that the rules are not only made, but implemented religiously.  My only suggestion is a change in leadership, as much as I want to take matters into my own hands, the resources and authority are not with me to use. Although, as a citizen I can push for these matters to the right authorities by having a petition from the general consensus and hope that the authorities act and listen.   3   (leadership is weak)

Confidential Respond - Beware everyone

Good day!

Example of a a new scam?  The Nigerian scam? Beware if you receive  something like this

I am Mrs Wend Toore auditing and accounting department" bank of Africa (boa) Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso .I discovered the sum of seven million, two hundred thousand dollars (usd7.2) belonging to a deceased customer of this bank the fund has been lying in a suspense account without anybody coming to put claim over the money since the account owner late, Mr Salla khat from Lebanese who was involved in the December 28th 2007 Benin car crash.

it is therefore, upon this discovery that i decided to take this ultimatum and make this business proposal to you as the fund will be release to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and i don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill the banking rules here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after seven years, the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the deceased customer was a foreigner and a Burkina be cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner.

Therefore, I am soliciting for your assistance to come forward as the next of kin. I have agreed that 40% of this money will be for you as the beneficiary respect of the provision of your account and service rendered, 60% will be for me. Then immediately the money transferred to your account from this bank, I will proceed to your country for the sharing of the fund.

Yours faithful,

Mrs Wend Toore

NU12- Proper Thermal Insulation by Rachelle Roque

Here's my 5th NU12 Topic: What pisses you off in your office / what do you think must be done?
We usually get irritated upon entering our office in 5th floor in the morning because the floor is always wet. Aside from being messy, it's also dangerous because it's slippery.  I think the water comes from the moist built overnight. They turn-off the aircon in the 5th floor after working hours, and this is when the problem starts. Below our office, 4th floor is our equipment room. These equipments dissipate so much hit when operating, and to prevent it from overheating, they keep the aircon there open 24 hours. Temperature in 4th floor is usually below 20° Celsius, while the room temperature in 5th floor becomes normal, around 26° Celsius after turning-off the aircon. And since temperature in 5th is hotter than 4th floor, condensation happens resulting to water droplets in the floor.
One way to address is to make an earlier shift for the janitorial services. It would be better if they start to clean

the area as area as possible and finish prior to employees arrival at around 7AM onwards. After mopping the

floor, they can request to turn-on the aircon so that moist will not be built again. But this is just an interim;

proper building design should be done to address the problem permanently. One way to do this is to put

thermal insulator in the ceiling of the 4th floor. This is to control the cold air pass through 5th floor thus,

removing the moisture

3.5<that is being observant.  Are you an ME,:you should make a good building adminsitrator>

Rachelle
