I sat beside a medical representative yesterday who was making a promo call on doctor. He had with him an iPad instead of the usual call book or call log. The doctor would merely sign on the touch sensitive touch screen to signify that the med rep has done his call. This is connected on line to their sales admin office. No reports to log no paper work, His location is being monitored too via the GPS. Neat eh. We can use this for:
1. Making the sales contract; and save on paper;
2. The sales reports can be summarized from the contracts. The sending of the docs by pouch can be saved too.
3. Similar applications to : interment service and chapel memorial service.
In the meantime, in Japan, Fuji films has come out and sold 5 million portable printer for selfies (and other photos of smartphone. A single charge can print 100 pictures (and uses probably Polaroid like technology in printing. They plan to sell 6 million units next year. Probably the market is limited to Japan only yet as of now?

This is all about new ideas and innovation. Entrepreneurship is all about new ideas and innovation. There could be no entrepreneurship unless the entrepreneur thinks out of the box, is creative, and constantly thinks of making his product, his market, his processes, his business model new. It is all about being better than before and the competition. It is all about preparing for the future. Maintaining status quo means death the end of the enterprise.

NU6 (2 of 6) - Portable Medical / Health Booth/Center
Angelbert M Orseno
Prof Jorge Saguinsin
ENTREP – AGSB, Clark
Background
The Philippines is one of the densely populated countries in Asia and it is continuously growing. Its life expectancy rate for both male and female is 69.4 as of 2011. Communities and people are dispersed from small to large entities.
As the Philippines is still considered a 3rd world developing country, its health service is considered as one of the many neglected and less prioritized area and as such people don’t have ready access to basic medical services and, situations could go bad in case of critical situations. ( 3 years ago, ADB removed PHL from ldc list)
Challenge
While communities have health centers its ratio is normally 1:1 meaning, 1 health center per 1 “barangay” regardless of its population count. Often you will see people piling up to get basic medical services like check-up, blood pressure tests, etc and the number constitute mostly as early and young as newborn to 10 years of age down to 45 onwards. This constraint limits the rendering of good basic medical service.
