Rules for start ups? May be guide. Start ups hate rules. They are there in the first place because they dislike rules. Maybe guide or suggestions are better title.
Here are some of them:
1. Start a company you love and like doing; ;
2. If you have an exit strategy, you violate numbe 1;
3. Hire people who like your company
4. Sales cure all (financing etc) Start a company whose product are liked by people and therefore will sell
5. Know your competencies and focus on being good at them
