Professionalism – new work, methods, practices NU6 (3)

I am actually working on a new project in my job. For the past years, since my family engaged in pharmaceutical manufacturing, processes in our plant improved in many ways since it started. Before as a backyard industry, now we are serving regions in Visayas and Mindanao. Since our plant undergone renovation last year, some parts of the plant were not really doing well. Efficiency become questionable especially in the warehouse area as raw materials and finished products are handled in efficiently. Movement of stocks from the warehouse to the trucks for distribution has been a challenge since demand increased and also inflow of raw materials going inside the warehouse become a bit challenging nowadays. I have identified recently that the warehouse area of our plant needs to undergo renovation to cope with the demand of our activities.
Our plan for the warehouse is to convert our existing multidivision warehouse into open type warehouse with using rack system. This would allow easy access, handling and transport of materials to the production area and also for distribution. Rack type warehouse will allow easy access and promote swift inventory of our materials thereby allowing us to maintain appropriate inventory. 3.5
What pisses me off at the mall? (NU6 4)

CDR King is a well known store for affordable items and most people who want replacements or enhancement for their laptops and cellphone buy at this store. I am also fond of buying at this store especially when I want cheaper computer parts. One thing I really don’t like buying at this store is their long waiting time. I have noticed that it takes 4 waiting times for the customers to completely buy their stuff. It took me around 30 minutes to buy my flash drive from my previous experience. The fist waiting time is when you get the number for waiting. Once your number is called a lady will assist you and get your stuff. Then, she will endorse the stuff to the clerk who does the receipt and the warranty sticker and lastly the clerk goes to the cashier and pays and gives back your change and order. In my experience this is a very long process. Sometimes, customers prefer buying to other stores because of the very slow queuing time. The first waiting time is consumes a lot of time already.
The good thing to do with this is to have the customers serve themselves. The management should choose which products can be purchased by customers directly and have them bring it to the cashier like what is being done in some department stores. Shoppers could ask for assistance if ever they need one. Warranty seals are attached in the same time the customer pays the cashier. The customers should do more of the footwork rather than the clerks. I am suggesting clerks should have their stations wherein customer could fall in line if ever they need to like testing of the product or rather choose to skip it and go directly to the cashier. I think this could make shopping experience better for the customers.3.5
