I've been in the banking industry for almost 10 years, and looking back at 2004, changes happened, especially in technology.  There are machines or devices used 10 years ago that has been replaced or innovated these days.
One of the new equipment launched recently is Chinabanks' Cash Accept Machine or CAM.  CAM is an innovation to the old depositories beside ATM's.  As compared to the old depositories wherein cash deposits will be credited the next banking day or so, CAM will process your deposit real-time and will be credited to the account in a matter of minutes.  While it gives clients convenience in avoiding long lines in depositing their moneys to tellers, process in is quick and real-time.
Here's an article (China Bank fields cash-accepting ATMs) from the Business section of www.philstar.com, dated July 10, 2012:
"MANILA, Philippines - The China Banking Corp. (China Bank) has introduced an automated teller machine (ATM) that receives cash called the China Bank Cash-Accept Machine or CAM, a state-of-the art NCR SelfServ 31 terminal.  CAM accepts P100, P500, and P1,000 bills (both the old and new series) for real-time credit to a China Bank savings or checking account. Unlike other banks' deposit machines, CAM doesn't require a China Bank ATM card, so other depositors who need to make a deposit to a China Bank account can use it.  CAM can also process deposits in a combination of P100s, P500s, and P1,000s – other deposit machines only allow deposits in the same denomination at a time.  A transaction takes just two to three minutes, which involves punching in the China Bank account number where the deposit will be credited, inserting the bills (up to a maximum of 90 bills per transaction), and waiting for the transaction receipt.  Deposits are instantaneously credited. Presently, China Bank's Makati main branch in Paseo de Roxas has a CAM, plans to deploy at least five more CAMs at selected branches within the year, and is also looking at expanding CAM's service to include acceptance of bills payments."
Other institutions in the banking industry won't be left behind in terms of technological advancements and innovations.  Take Bank of the Philippine Islands.  From their BEA (BPI Express Assist), which allows bank customers to enter transaction data and needed service on touch-screen machines together with the queue number, they launched BEA Online, a first in Philippine banking industry.  "This facility enables customers to choose a time-slot for their branch transactions, making branch banking faster and more convenient."  Here's an article from www.malaya.com.ph (BPI launches first online queuing system for branch transactions) about BPI's BEA Online:
"The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) launched another first in Philippine banking - the BPI Express Assist (BEA) Online.
BEA Online is an online branch transaction appointment system built-in to BPI Express Online, the bank's online banking platform.
This facility enables customers to choose a time-slot for their branch transactions, making branch banking faster and more convenient.
BEA Online is an off-shoot of the BPI Express Assist (BEA) terminals installed in the branches.
BEA eliminates the need to fill-up paper forms since it now allows branch customers to input their branch transaction details into a touch-screen terminal instead. Upon submission, the transaction details are automatically transmitted to the tellers and customers are issued queue numbers.
Rather than waiting in line, customers can just sit down and relax while waiting for their queue numbers to be called.
This facility has effectively reduced the customers' waiting time at the branch.
Likewise, with BEA Online, customers can now choose time-slots for their branch transactions in advance.
Customers simply need to log-in to www.bpiexpressonline.com, click on Other Services, and then click on BPI Express Assist Online.
After which, they may choose their preferred BPI branch, date, and time for where they will fulfill the transaction, then input their transaction details.
Electronic queue numbers will be issued for the Deposit, Withdrawal, Encashment, or Bills Payment transactions they have encoded online.
"Our clients had a better banking experience when we launched BEA last year. This time we are making it even easier for them as BEA goes online. BEA Online will enable our clients to reduce their waiting time at the branch, through the liberty of arriving there when their branch transaction would be fulfilled. We have brought forth this innovation in-line with the bank's objective of making transacting easy for our clients, while also improving the customer traffic flow at the branches," shares Natividad Alejo, BPI Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer Banking Group.
"We are excited for the benefits that BEA Online provides to BPI clients. We have always envisioned empowering Filipinos to take-charge of their lifestyle by allowing them to put their banking time in perspective and providing them more personal time. This way we continue our thrust in making banking easy for our customers as we give them the opportunity to be first in-line for their banking transactions," concludes Manuel Tagaza, BPI Senior Vice President and Head of Electronic Channels Group.
Through BEA Online, transacting at the branch is now more convenient. Try it out by registering in or logging-in to BPI Express Online today."  <hi Akeel a corporate innovation does not qualify.  It must be yoiur own>
