Rationale: Filipinos are yearly victims of flooding. As much as we are prepared for the worst, nature has still other- more violent ways in dealing with our negligence to take care of our environment. Now, rainfall pours heavily without tropical storms and monsoons. It is a trend worldwide that the weather is very unpredictable, and it has created a new market- a new industry of safe guarding our families and properties. Welcome to global warming.
Idea: Build an alarm system to warn house owners of the rising flood waters within the vicinity. It will give them time to prepare for evacuation and put their family and important stuff in higher grounds. In case of flash floods or fast rising of flood water, there is a device which will detect water level (before it reaches electric outlets) and triggers auto shut-off to power supply to avoid electrocution and damage to appliances that are submerged in flood water. 3
